By Pradipti Bhatta and Evangeline Ambat, NSF INCLUDES Coordination Hub
The NSF INCLUDES Coordination Hub kicked off 2021 with a new look for the NSF INCLUDES National Network website and improvements to the online community. In response to feedback from Network members, we developed a fresh new look for the homepage; more user-friendly navigation; streamlined access to information about the National Network, the NSF INCLUDES initiative, and the Coordination Hub; increased our use of imagery throughout the site and added a page featuring the most recent Hub resources for non-Network members, including the most recent webinar, research brief, and more. In this post, we highlight some new features that we are excited to share with you.
What’s New in the NSF INCLUDES National Network Website
About Us: What is the NSF INCLUDES National Network and who are the partners in the Network? What does the Coordination Hub do? What is the NSF INCLUDES initiative? Answers to all these questions and more can be found in our new “About Us” navigation tab. This tab also houses a new page that outlines all the benefits of joining the National Network.
What’s New:
- Resources: Our new “Resources” page features the most recent products developed by the NSF INCLUDES Coordination Hub, including research and resource briefs, our monthly newsletters, and webinars. The page is a sneak preview into the kind of resources available for those who join the National Network through our “Library,” which hosts an extensive archive of all the resources developed by the Hub.
- Blog: We look forward to continuing to feature and highlight the work of our Network members. Please review the most recent blogs and let us know if you have a story to share.
Events: The page has a new look and shows upcoming events hosted by the Coordination Hub and those shared by National Network members.
Featured Video: Look out for the most recent Coordination Hub-led webinar recording or videos featuring the work of our National Network members.
The National Network FAQ: This document addresses some of the frequently asked questions that we receive from our those interested in joining the National Network.
Invite a Friend: If you know someone who is working towards broadening participation in STEM, you can invite them to join the NSF INCLUDES National Network using the drafted language in this document.
What’s New in the National Network Online Community
Network Member Orientation Guide: Are you new to the National Network? Do you need some guidance on what to expect in the Network? The Network member guide in the library gives you an overview of what is available to you as a member of the National Network. We highly recommend this resource to all our new members.
Profile Page and Member Directory: With over 2000 members, the National Network online community is a space for anyone interested in improving diversity and inclusion in STEM. Network members can connect with each other; share and access resources and events; pose questions, share thoughts or opportunities with fellow members, and more.
To improve the experience of using the Network directory, we have updated the “Profile” and “Member Directory” pages. Please take a moment to update your profile/add a profile picture and tell others about your broadening participation in STEM work. Updating and adding information to your profile makes it easier for members to connect–you can even link your social media profiles to your Network member profile.
To access the profile page, please select the down arrow next to your photo thumbnail on the top right corner of this page and select “Profile.” Explore our new and improved “Member Directory” page.
We hope you find these new changes helpful! As we grow, we will be making more updates and improvements. We would love to hear what you think of our refreshed look. Please reach out to us if you have any feedback or questions.
