Dr. Aaron Thomas is an Associate Professor and Director of the Native American Research Laboratory and Indigenous Research and STEM Education at the University of Montana.
Dr. Thomas has a long history of directing National Science Foundation and NASA funded research projects in the field of chemical engineering and increasing degree matriculation of Native American and Alaska Native students in STEM fields. He has developed a comprehensive service plan to stimulate STEM education activities in Montana’s reservation middle schools and continues to support the students in their undergraduate and graduate STEM studies at the University of Montana. Dr. Thomas is the Principal Investigator on the NSF INCLUDES Design and Development Launch Pilot (DDLP) American Indian Traditional Science Experience (AITSE).
