National Network Quarterly Webinar | Adaptive Practices to Networked Improvement Community Framework
August 30 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
This webinar will feature four INCLUDES funded Alliances (ALRISE Alliance, STEM PUSH, First2 Network, Native FEWS) who will share their experience employing Improvement Science and Networked Improvement Communities as a lens for systems change. This workshop will provide an overview of the origins of NICs and a key framework for their initiation and development. During this session, each Alliance will use the framework to describe their use of the framework elements to support their work in building networks. Together, we will highlight similarities and differences in how the framework is embodied in approaches used by the four groups, along with practical tips. Within this session, participants will explore:
- The challenge of the grain size of the problems that IS and NIC are designed to address compared to the complexity of the systems that we are attempting to change.
- Critical interrogation of how traditional improvement science conceptions and tools can perpetuate inequitable practices and the adaptations that better center equity in the work.
- Concrete strategies for pressing against identified inequities in the work such as careful and creative attention to inclusion in the improvement science process of underrepresented community members.
- Collaboratively developed emerging guidelines to adapt and adopt improvement science for INCLUDES projects.
