Abstract: This presentation will explore the critical role of quantitative research design in addressing structural racism, data biases, and algorithmic biases. The presentation will focus on formulation of the research questions and data collection. The session will highlight key considerations in designing research that is both rigorous and socially conscious, ensuring that algorithms and statistical models are used in ways that promote equity. Through research examples, attendees will gain insights into developing research frameworks that actively contribute to quantitative research aimed at amplifying the narratives of minority populations.
