Dr. Donald Gillian-Daniel is the Director of Professional Development for the Office of Inclusion, Equity & Diversity in Engineering within the College of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He also serves as the Assistant Director of Wisconsin’s Equity & Inclusion Laboratory. Dr. Gillian-Daniel’s work has focused on supporting graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in their development of inclusive teaching practices through the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching & Learning (CIRTL) Network, where he worked for 15 years. He serves as co-lead of the National Science Foundation’s NSF’s Eddie Bernice Johnson INCLUDES Aspire Alliance’s National Change Team. His current work focuses on supporting faculty in their development of inclusive professional practices in both higher education and STEM disciplinary and professional societies through his many NSF-funded grants, including projects funded by NSF ADVANCE, RCN:LEAPS, and IUSE.
Robin Greenler is the Assistant Director for the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL) leading the development of the CIRTL Network National Learning Community. CIRTL is a network of 43 universities that support graduate students and postdocs to develop more effective and inclusive teaching skills as they pursue teaching careers in higher education. Through the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Robin is a co-principal investigator (PI) for the inclusive STEM Teaching project and has developed a broadly accessible open online course focusing on development of inclusive teaching skills. She is PI in the NSF-funded Leveraging, Developing and Enhancing Biology, a Research Coordination Network that identifies evidence-based inclusion strategies to address persistent equity challenges in professional and scientific societies. Along with Dr. Gillian-Daniel, Robin co-leads the National Science Foundation (NSF) Aspire Alliance National Change Initiative. Her focus in all of these projects is supporting faculty and institutions to develop equitable, socially just practices and policies across the higher education landscape.
